Atlanta Technical College prepares students for high-wage, high-performance careers and offers associate degrees, diplomas, and technical certificates of credit for more than 120 programs available in business and public service technologies, health and public safety technologies, and industrial and transportation technologies.
We offer online courses as well as real-life work experiences. More than 90 percent of Atlanta Technical College graduates are either employed or continuing education at a higher level. Atlanta Technical College is one of 25 colleges in the Technical College System of Georgia and has been recognized by Washington Monthly magazine as “America’s Best Community College” (2007) and as the only Georgia community college ranked among the top fifty (2010). Most importantly, our student’s success is the college’s success, and the college is committed to ensuring academic achievement for our students and workforce development for the community.
Yes, Atlanta Technical College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (COC-SACS) to award associate degrees, diplomas, and technical certificates of credit.

Yes, campus tours are scheduled through our Admissions Department. Atlanta Technical College is open for routine business Monday – Thursday from 9 a.m. until 7p.m., and on Friday from 9 a.m. until noon. Students are expected to attend all classes as scheduled. Specific attendance requirements are established by each department and outlined in the course syllabus; however, programs governed by state and federal licensing agencies may have more specific attendance policies. Records of absences and tardiness are maintained by each instructor. Excessive absenteeism and tardiness impact work ethics evaluations and course grades.
Yes. Atlanta Technical College provides program accessibility and reasonable accommodations to individuals defined as disabled under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 or the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, as Amended. Special services assistance is designed to provide a comprehensive program of supportive services to individuals with disabilities. Students who have a legally defined disability and wish to request accommodations must first register with the ADA/Disabilities Services and provide documentation of the disability and its effect on their ability to perform in an academic environment.

Yes. The campus offers a vibrant and growing student life aspect to the college experience. The Student Government Association is very active on campus, as are many other organizations, including Phi Beta Lambda, DECA, and SkillsUSA. Some programs require students to wear uniforms in accordance with the academic program requirements and the chosen career field of study.
The GED test is a four-subject high school equivalency test that measures skills required by high schools and requested by colleges and employers. The four subjects are Science, Social Studies, Mathematical Reasoning, and Reasoning through Language Arts. By successfully completing the GED, an individual earns a General Educational Development diploma, which demonstrates that the individual has a acquired a level of learning that is comparable to that of high school graduates. Atlanta Technical College has a 90 percent job placement rate for our graduates. They are employed by a wide variety of local and regional businesses, including city, county, state and federal government agencies; local and regional restaurants and hotels, including Hyatt and Marriott hotels; national and international airlines, including Delta Air Lines and Northwest Airlines; automotive service companies, including BMW; law firms; local and regional hospitals; and medical offices and dental offices.
Yes, however, not all major programs offer courses in the evenings. There is also a wide array of courses offered online. Please go to Online Courses Class Schedule for information about our online course schedule.
