Atlanta Technical College Foundation Receives Gift to Dental Program

February 22, 2021

ATLANTA (Feb. 22, 2021) – Atlanta Technical College (ATC) and the ATC Foundation have received a gift from Dr. Ron Eichel, D.D.S., intended to support students enrolled in dental hygiene and dental assisting in need of financial aid to continue their educations.  This fund, known as the Ron Eichel, D.D.S., Dental Endowed Gap Funding Program, will total $100,000 and serve as part of the College’s GAP Fund.

“This gift represents an opportunity for students to develop new skills in a pandemic-proof field,” said ATC President Dr. Victoria Seals.  “The ability to remain competitive in the workforce is a privilege, one that too often our community is denied.  This gift will allow us to continue to transform the lives of our students through the power of technical education.”

Dr. Eichel also made an additional $10,000 gift to the college’s Hank Aaron 755 Society to support Mr. Aaron’s endowed GAP fund. The $10,000 is in honor of Mr. Allan Tanenbaum and his relationship with Mr. Henry Louis “Hank” Aaron. Mr. Tanenbaum is a former ATCF board member and long-time friend and business associate of Mr. Aaron.

“Dr. Eichel established his endowment following a visit to our lab, witnessed our students’ skills, and engaged our faculty,” said Mr. Stephen McDaniel, Vice President of Institutional Advancement.  “The endowment is a vote of confidence in the excellent education and opportunity here at ATC and will provide valuable student aid to our dental hygiene and dental assisting students for years to come.”

A 501(c)3 non-profit, the Atlanta Technical College Foundation’s mission is to provide support to Atlanta Technical College and the programs and activities carried out by the College. Its purpose is to acquire, retain, invest, and administer funds exclusively for the benefit of Atlanta Technical College.

Since its inception, the Atlanta Technical College Foundation has focused on the major goals of resource development, relationship building, and financial management of resources.
